Vita on WhatsApp is optional. Connecting is your choice, and everything you have paid for still works if you never connect.
1. What you are agreeing to
When you connect, health information moves over WhatsApp: your questions, your logs, reminders, documents your doctor sends you and the answers Vita gives. WhatsApp is run by a third party, outside our systems, and the messages also sit on your own phone and in your own WhatsApp account. Anyone who can open your phone can read them.
2. Vita is not a doctor
Vita is your longevity co-pilot. Vita gives you general health education and helps you with your plan, your logs, your documents and your appointments. Vita is not a doctor, does not diagnose you, does not treat you and never gives medical advice. Where something needs a clinician, Vita puts it to a doctor on the platform through Ask a doctor.
3. Never for emergencies
WhatsApp is not monitored for emergencies and messages are not read as they arrive. Vita is for education and your plan, a doctor on the platform answers clinical questions in writing, and anything urgent or serious goes to your own doctor or the nearest emergency unit. In an emergency call 10177 or go to your nearest emergency unit.
4. Your number and your messages
You confirm the number is yours by sending us a short code from your own WhatsApp, so nobody else can claim it. Messages are kept as part of your health record for as long as the law requires us to keep health records, because they can contain clinical information. Keeping them is not something you can switch off separately, but you can stop new messages at any time.
5. Stopping
You may disconnect WhatsApp at any time in your account, or reply STOP in the chat. Nothing you have paid for is lost. Documents and reminders then come to you by email instead, and you can still ask a doctor a question in the app.
6. Cost
WhatsApp itself is free to use, but your mobile network may charge you for data. Where a paid feature is involved, such as an extra doctor question or a Vita Energy top-up, the price is shown to you and you confirm it before anything is charged.
