Care led by your symptoms
Hormone therapy, explained clearly
Bone, heart and mood in the picture
R495 per consultation. Joining is a one-time focused consult; reviews are on demand and can cover several programmes in one consult. Laboratory fees and medicines are separate.
Your symptoms are real, and they make sense
Hot flushes, night sweats, broken sleep, low mood, joint aches and changes in desire are common through perimenopause and menopause. They are driven by real hormonal change, not by imagination or weakness.
From around the mid forties, your symptoms alone tell the story. There is no need to prove anything with a hormone test before you can be taken seriously.

Care shaped around your stage of life
The right support depends on where you are in the transition and what matters to you, whether that is relief from flushes and sweats, better sleep, comfortable intimacy, contraception, or protecting your bones for the years ahead.
Your Longaevitas Doctor works this out with you from your age and your period pattern, then shapes a plan that may include hormone therapy, practical changes for sleep, mood and strength, or both.
- Hot flushes, night sweats and sleep
- Mood, joints, intimacy and desire
- Contraception needs while periods continue
- Bone and heart health for the long term
Hormone therapy, without the fear
Modern hormone therapy is the most effective treatment for menopausal symptoms, and for most healthy women in their forties and fifties the benefits outweigh the risks. Patches and body-identical progesterone have a reassuring safety profile.
Hormone therapy is not contraception, and it is not right for everyone. Your doctor talks through the benefits and risks for you personally, and you always speak with your doctor in a live consultation before any new prescription.

Common questions
Who is the programme for?
It is for women from around age 40 who are noticing symptoms of perimenopause or menopause, such as hot flushes, night sweats, poor sleep, low mood, joint aches or vaginal dryness.
Do I need a hormone test to confirm menopause?
Usually not. From around the mid forties, your symptoms and period pattern are enough to guide care. A hormone test can occasionally help in younger women, but it is not needed for most.
Is hormone therapy safe?
For most healthy women who start it in their forties or fifties, the benefits of hormone therapy outweigh the risks. Your Longaevitas Doctor considers your personal health history and talks through the benefits and risks with you before any decision.
Will hormone therapy stop me falling pregnant?
No. Hormone therapy is not contraception. If you are still having periods and could fall pregnant, your doctor will discuss contraception alongside any treatment.
What if I only have vaginal or urinary symptoms?
Local oestrogen treatment can help with vaginal dryness, discomfort with intimacy and some urinary symptoms, and it can be used on its own or alongside other treatment.
Will my bones be considered?
Yes. Bone health is part of the programme. Your doctor considers your fracture risk and advises on protecting your bones for the long term.
